About the event
Hope for the Jogini Girls
Dignity Freedom Network (DFN) is hosting a dinner to help abused women in great need. For over 2,000 years, young girls have been dedicated to the temple goddess in parts of India. Girls are ‘married’ to the deity without consent and are trapped in a life of ritualised, systemic sexual abuse. These girls are bonded to a life of sexual servitude often hidden by a veil of culture and religious tradition.
DFN works to combat this form of human trafficking and slavery. They are seeking financial partners to help them in their mission to stop trafficking and slavery and to help these women begin a new chapter of life. Funds raised by the dinner will be used in the 250 villages they currently work in as well as go towards a further 50 villages still heavily affected.
DFN are doing everything they can to help empower these women with the goal of seeing this terrible system dismantled.
Join DFN on the 24th September at an upcoming dinner to hear stories of transformation. Come and her the powerful testimony of Manjula Manhduvadha and how thanks to DFN and partners, she has graduated from high school and is now a teacher in a Good Shepherd School. You can make a difference to so many, we look forward to meeting you.
